Summary

The Routing Manager oversees, develops, implements, and manages Columbia Distributing routing strategies for delivery, merchandising and sales resources. The position requires industry experience and technical abilities to support strategy development and execution. The Routing Manager supports the company's culture while providing excellent leadership to the Routing team. This role interacts directly with Sales and Operations leadership teams to coordinate planning, implementation and execution of key business objectives. The position continuously works to promote a safe and positive working environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop processes and programs to improve the effectiveness and operation of the department, ensuring that all responsibilities and functions are clearly defined
Recruit, train and develop a cohesive high performing team that is clear about the department's goals and objectives and understand how they contribute to the company's success
Manage departmental budget including labor and expenses and direct resource utilization of delivery budgets
Keep the team informed of plans, actions and developments that impact them and the department or any other information that may be relevant
Ensure that all safety and compliance policies and procedures are followed
Evaluate Delivery, Sales and Merchandizing Routing opportunities and utilize the system to determine possible scenarios for improved customer service, delivery and sales efficiency
Engage in business stakeholder planning, present supported initiatives and report progress to stakeholders
Demonstrate a high level of leadership in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
Adhere to all state liquor laws and regulations
Demonstrate and promote behaviors consistent with Company Core Values
Complete all other tasks or projects as assigned

People Management

The position manages the Sr. Router Analysts, Router Analysts and Router Specialists and is responsible for the performance management and hiring of all employees within those functions.

Work Environment

This job operates mostly indoors and occasionally outdoors.

Physical Demands

Lift/carry and push/pull 35 lbs.
Bend/stoop/crouch/squat
Use arms/wrists/hands/grasp


Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position, days and hours of work vary and may include weekends.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, although occasional out-of-area and overnight travel is expected. Travel not expected to exceed 25%.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree or equivalent management work experience
Maintain valid driver's license with acceptable driving record
Effective organizational and interpersonal skills including written and verbal communication skills
Thorough knowledge of MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Minimum two (2) years' experience with Routing, Project Management, and other productivity and optimization strategies


Preferred Education and Experience

5-10 years operations management experience
Lean execution
